In the network, a message is currently making about a possible new edition of the Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 with a larger video memory the round based on an entry at the Eurasian Economic Commission, EEC for short.
Accordingly, the graphics card from the Turing generation, which appeared almost three years ago, should be presented to the public in a few weeks. But how realistic is a new RTX 2060 anyway – what is it about the rumors?
What would the new edition of the RTX 2060 have to offer?
As can be seen from the entry of the Taiwanese manufacturer Gigabyte at the EEC, there could be four different versions of the RTX 2060 for the time being:
- GV-N2060OC-12GD
- GV-N2060D6-12GD
- GV-N2060WF2OC-12GD
- GV-N2060WF2-12GD
What all model names have in common is that they have a 12
contain, which clearly indicates a 12.0 GB DDR6 video memory. The normal RTX 2060 has 6.0, the RTX 2060 Super 8.0 GB of VRAM.
Beyond that, nothing is known about the new edition. In principle, however, there are even three graphics chips available:
- TU106-200: The graphics chip of the first generation of the RTX 2060 with 1,920 processing units. The graphics card was sold with a clock rate of 1,365 / 1,680 MHz from January 2019.
- TU104-150: In January 2020, the RTX 2060 TU104 appeared with a new graphics chip. This also has 1,920 cores, and the clock rate remains unchanged.
- TU106-410: In July 2019, the RTX 2060 Super appeared with 2,176 CUDA processing units and a clock rate of 1,470 / 1,650 MHz.
When should the new RTX 2060 appear and what should it cost?
According to current rumors, it should be on December 7th 2021 be ready. However, the leakers are silent about possible prices. Should the new edition become a reality, however, it should be a bit above the regular model in terms of costs. According to Geizhals.de the prices for available cards start at a little over 600 dollars.

How realistic is the new edition of the RTX 2060?
Whether a new RTX 2060 will appear at all is another matter. Experience has shown that entries in the EEC do not always result in tangible products. Rather, manufacturers are only happy to secure appropriate product names at an early stage.
In the course of the year we have also repeatedly Rumors of new editions of the RTX 2060 heard. Not all of these have been confirmed.
But some do, because there are models of the RTX 2060 that went on sale in March / April of this year. For example the Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 2060:
