Will Captain Price finally be playable? For years, fans of CoD games and especially the Modern Warfare series have known and loved the charismatic mentor with the powerful schnauzer – now we may soon be able to slip into his uniform himself.
The reason for this assumption is an unlisted video on the official YouTube channel of Call of Duty. This very strongly suggests the appearance of the character already appearing in the Modern Warfare campaign as an operator, but you should be careful with early confirmations.
What can you see in the video?
Return of old acquaintances: In the teaser video we follow a digital conversation between two other well-known characters. The two are none other than Victor Zakhaev and Khaled Al-Asad – two of the greatest villains in the series.
They talk about their plans and note that they could have a massive problem with a new opponent. The name Price is not mentioned and we only see a somewhat blurry picture without his face on it. The characteristic hat and the immediate panic of the two bad guys definitely suggest the series veterans.
So it is almost undeniable that it is Captain Price. We do not yet know whether he will actually be a playable operator in Modern Warfare. It looks a lot like that, but you should definitely wait for an official announcement beforehand.
But it would be possible anyway, after all, his character model is already represented in the shooter’s story and with absolute certainty many players would be happy to finally be able to play him himself in Modern Warfare.

Who is Captain Price anyway?
Captain John Price was introduced as an NPC in the fourth part of the series, the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Even then it was already a kind Mentor figure for the player in the shooter’s campaign, even playable in two flashback missions. In addition, his grandfather, also known as Captain Price, is one of the protagonists in the very first 2003 Call of Duty, so the character has a tradition within the series.
Also in the successor titles of the series and especially in the current CoD: Modern Warfare, he had appearances again and again and quickly became a fan favorite, not least because of his characteristic appearance and his researched veteran attitude.
If Price should appear as a playable operator in the new Modern Warfare, the community will be over the moon. In general, the fan favorite could be one of the announced major innovations in Season 4 of Modern Warfare, after all, some leaks have already been leaked.
However, the question then remains open as to how the entire content updates for Modern Warfare are actually about Call of Duty 2020. According to colleague Phil Elsner, Call of Duty is getting in the way this year.
