Ubisoft Is Reportedly Remaking Its Pirates Game Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag.
According to two sources who spoke to Kotaku, Ubisoft Singapore has put a lot of effort into its development, and the game is still in its early stages, meaning its release is still a few years away.
Ubisoft Singapore is also developing Skull and Bones, which originally launched as a Black Flag expansion before becoming a full-scale game.
The oft-delayed game was finally slated for a March release, but it’s been pushed back yet again. Ubisoft announced during the Summer Games Festival that the game will be in closed beta in August, but there’s still no word on a new release date.
In the meantime, Ubisoft has planned to release Assassin’s Creed Phantasm on October 12, and has three other Assassin’s Creed games in the works.
Codename Red is set in feudal Japan, developed by Ubisoft Quebec (creator of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate); and Codename Hexe, set during the 16th century European witch trials, Clint Hocking at the helm; finally, Codename Infinity, a hub that connects players through different types of Assassin’s Creed experiences old and new, with multiplayer and standalone experiences.
There’s a lot of assassin stuff in the works.
