Square Enix announced its plans for Pax East today, and subsequently updated its schedule, noting that the plan has been scaled back due to the coronavirus.
According to the company, it will no longer be hosted Final fantasy 14 For group meetings, choose a live broadcast from the Japan office.
It also canceled developer signing and photo opp meetings and fan gathering events scheduled for February 28.
"The community may know that COVID-19 (also known as" new coronavirus ") is spreading in East Asia. Given the current situation in the region, sadly, Square Enix has decided to cancel staff who are leaving the Japanese office in Pax East Attendance. "
"This difficult decision is based on our desire to prevent any potential spread of the virus and to prioritize the health and safety of our team and fans. Since our team will not participate, we plan to scale back to the Final Fantasy 14 plan activity."
As of press time, it seems that Pax East is still available for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. At the show, attendees will be able to demonstrate game demos, get signatures from English-speaking actors, and take photos of motorcycles using Cloud.
Square is a company recently canceled due to a coronavirus. The virus caused the Taipei Game Show to be held in Berlin in April, the Taipei Game Show was cancelled, and caused Sony to withdraw from Pax East and GDC this year.
