Square enix you have registered the brand Nier in Japan on November 29 as reported Siliconera and today the official announcement has been given. It is very likely that this is an indication to protect the IP in the face of t he development of future video games of the franchise.
This fact is something that every time seems more and more possible considering that it celebrates 10 years of the franchise next year 2020 and recently a website has been launched for the occasion. The creator of the franchise, Yoko Taro, says in this regard that he is willing to make more video games of the saga but jokes saying that he does anything while he is paid.
NieR debuted in 2010 to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 as a spin-off of the saga Drakengard and his fame was consolidated in 2017/2018 with the arrival of his sequel, NieR: Automata, for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC, developed by PlatinumGames.
