At the popular Netflix-Serie “Squid Game“A logic error is said to have crept in. Because the main character Gi-Hun has two different birthdays.

In the first episode of the series, Gi-Hun tries to withdraw money from the bank with his mother’s card. He assumes his birthday is the pin and enters 0426. That corresponds to April 26th.

But at the end of the series, when Gi-Hun is about to get on the plane, he dials the number of the games. A voice on the phone tells him that in order to take part in the games, he should give his name and date of birth.

Gi-Hun mentions October 31, 1974 as the date of birth. So what day is his birthday now? In episode 1 he mentions that his mother celebrates her birthday according to the lunar calendar and that her birthday always changes.

Indeed according to some Reddit users this cannot be the reason Gi-Hun gives these two dates. Even according to the lunar calendar, one would not come to the dates mentioned.

Therefore the question arises: Did the serial producers make a mistake or did Gi-Hun deliberately lie? Either he lied when he withdrew the money with his friend or he lied when he signed up for the games again. But the playmakers have already proven that they know everything about the players. So why would Gi-Hun lie to her?

However, the playmakers are not entirely infallible either, after all they were wrong about the amount of Sang-woo’s debt, as this Gi-Hun confessed in one episode.
