Star Citizen Alpha 3.9 has been released and brings completely new gameplay mechanics with the prison: Those who now die as criminals wake up in the Automated Prison in Klescher and have to work through their punishment first. Griefern – who like to maliciously try to ruin other people's fun – doesn't like that at all. The rest of the community, however, is about it very happy with the damage.
How do players disrupt the flow of the game?
Griefing is not a simple PvP like piracy and others. Rather, some players exploited gaps in Star Citizen mechanics to others Target frustrating users. The method of ramming other ships at space ports and thus destroying them was particularly popular with the villains. The community calls this "pad ramming". Since Alpha 3.9 it counts as a crime:
"Added infraction to immediately impound player ships that collide with ships with the right to be within a landing area"
There were new threads on Reddit at regular intervals, in which many players shared their Frustration with this practice expressed. On the other hand, anyone who shot the »Pad Rammer« was celebrated. For example, when the Youtuber Fractal published a video by doing one of the Griefers, he received more than 700 upvotes.
Fair punishment
Thanks to the jail it is now over. Anyone who breaks the laws in the game world is taking a risk. Because whoever is caught may serve a few hours in real time in the virtual prison
He describes how punishment for in-game criminal activity takes about as much time as a miner or trader, for example, did before he went to the involuntary PvP was shot down. SirToffee further notes that legitimate PvP players are happy about the mechanics, as it enables them to enjoy exciting battles.

What do you do in prison?
The prison has its own gameplay loop that many players have relied on in the past. However, it is not yet fully integrated. So far, while you are allowed to do special missions in prison, so far it has been limited on mining.
The length of your prison stay depends on your Crime Stat (CS). The more crimes you have committed, the higher. With CS3 you should do this for five to six hours spend behind Swedish curtains. On CS5 there are a total of 18. If you are mining, you can reduce this penalty to 15 to 40 minutes. Alternatively, it is possible to just break out.
With the release of Alpha 3.9, players are now looking forward to version 4.0 of the SciFi simulation. It already disappointed some. Because with the planet Crusader, the developer has already postponed the largest planned feature.
