The strategy game Star Trek: Infinite was only launched last fall, but now it’s over again.
That went quickly! Star Trek: Infinite from Paradox Interactive fell well short of expectations – and that now has consequences. The grand strategy game, in which you take control of one of four iconic factions of the Star Trek universe, received average reviews and was subsequently unable to acquire the necessary number of players. For this reason, there will now be no further updates for the title from Nimble Giant Entertainment.
Fans of the sci-fi franchise initially had high expectations of the strategy game released in October 2023. They were also hoping for longer-term support with additional content and extensions – but that will no longer happen.
“Today we bring you news regarding the future of Star Trek: Infinite – a journey that we have embarked on together with much excitement. Unfortunately, we have to inform you that Star Trek: Infinite will not receive any further updates. We want to be part of this one “We would like to express our gratitude to those who have been the backbone of this journey for us,” reads, among other things, the statement from Paradox Interactive, which from now on also expressed thanks to the creativity and work of Nimble Giant.
Naturally, a number of fans were less enthusiastic about Paradox’s announcement, after all, the last major update to the title was released just two months after its release – after that the strategy game became quiet. Now it’s clear why!
