Heavy rain creators Quantic Dream recently announced a promising new Star Wars adventure, Star Wars Eclipse, but according to a new report, we may have to wait a lot longer than we think for this one.
Quantic Dream officially presented Star Wars Eclipse at The Game Awards 2021 in December and made fans’ hearts beat faster. After all, this is a story-based new Star Wars adventure from the studio, which had already delivered blockbusters in this regard with Heavy Rain or Detroit: Become Human. Unfortunately, we will have to wait longer than originally thought for what appears to be a very promising project at first glance.
The fact that the title of Quantic Dream will not necessarily be released in 2022 or 2023 was already to be expected in the course of the announcement, but the report of a well-known insider suggests a much longer waiting time. What is meant is once again Tom Henderson, who has hit the mark with high reliability with his statements in the past. on Xfire he now writes that Star Wars Eclipse may not appear until 2027 or even 2028, which is more than five years away.
According to Henderson, the game was announced very early. By introducing Star Wars Eclipse, Quantic Dream was trying to attract capable developers and win them over. At the same time, they probably wanted to attract potential buyers who are on the hunt for exclusive titles for their consoles. In the meantime, however, it has turned out that it is quite difficult to hire talented staff to work on the game. In short: Quantic Dream simply lacks the manpower to make an earlier release of the supposed blockbuster possible.
In the report, Henderson also addresses the fact that Quantic Dream is also accused of treating employees badly. That should play a role in the fact that you can’t get the necessary new staff. It remains to be seen whether the rumors about the still distant release will come true in this form.
