star wars outlaws Will let you take on some work from the one and only Jabba the Hutt, but that doesn’t mean you have to side with him.
While there will be some new locations and planets to visit in Massive Entertainment’s upcoming open-world Star Wars game, you can certainly visit the iconic Mos Eisley bar on Tatooine. Who else can you find there besides Jabba, and as confirmed in interviews between IGN and some of the developers behind Star Wars Outlaws, you’ll be spending a lot of time in Jabba’s palace. You can cooperate with him, but you can also betray him, which obviously has consequences.

Director Julian Gerrett also noted that if you “close your eyes and let people choose to go anywhere on Tatooine? Mos Eisley. Specifically a bar in Mos Eisley. Chances are you can see all the nooks and crannies. You can see all the things that are documented in the Lucasfilm archives.” Gerighty goes on to say that “the concept of virtual tours is very important to us,” an interesting idea often applied to games that take you to real-world locations, such as the Yakuza games.
A behind-the-scenes video recently released by Ubisoft also goes into more detail about Massive’s thought process in designing its version of Tatooine. Obviously, you’ll see parts of Tatooine you’re more familiar with, but as art and world director Benedikt Podlesnigg points out, “It’s not just about recreating Tatooine as you know it, [but] Go back to the classic source of the spaghetti western. When we build new points of interest along an already established history, we try to recreate an authentic mood and feel. ”
Star Wars Outlaws will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime in 2024.
