Bethesda has released a new video starry sky It focuses on music and sound design.
In the video, audio director Mark Lampert and composer Inon Zur discuss the artistic process, how the score will affect your experience, and more.
According to Lambert, the theme song for all Bethesda games is the framework for the title. The music team is always trying to “weave in a certain way,” and the music hints at the main theme as you level up in Starfield and discover new locations.
“Starfield is the most ambitious project I’ve ever worked on,” Zur said. “It’s a big game about a vast place, but above all, it bravely asks big questions — philosophical questions and important questions — that people don’t usually bother or dare to ask.”
The game is the first new universe from Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years, allowing you to create any character you want and free to explore the game as you strive to “answer humanity’s greatest mysteries.”
Set in 2330, Starfield will interact with three factions, and the game focuses on the colonial war waged in 2310 between the Freedom Star Collective and the United Colony. For now, peace prevails, but unease between the two factions may boil over. As far as enemies go, expect plenty of human threats, including pirates, mercenaries, astronauts, and rabid religious zealots.
Speaking of factions, you can join any faction you want, even multiple factions – including the bad guys. Interacting with these factions and other NPCs will take a page out of the dialogue system in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.
You’ll have companions hanging out with you on your journey, one of which is a robot named VASCO.
The game will release exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X/S on November 11, and will be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one. Here’s everything we know about the game so far.
