The exit restrictions due to the corona pandemic continue to have an impact. The number of players went through the roof again last weekend.

A week ago, Steam set a new record with over 20 million players in one day, just to break it again last weekend. Legendary 22,670,375 players were logged into Steam at the same time, over 10 percent more than the previous weekend. Not surprising when there are no opportunities to go out thanks to the exit restriction. This peak was reached around 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Classics like CS: GO, DOTA 2 and PUBG were gambled, but also GTA V, Rainbow Six: Siege and the currently free to play Football Manager 2020 from Sega. It comes as no surprise that there is currently very little happening on the planet when it comes to football.
It cannot be ruled out that the record will not last long. With more and more states and regions imposing exit restrictions, the desire to spend leisure time in one's own four walls is certainly not less. Hopefully, Steam will be up to the rush and there will be no network problems.
When it comes to game sales, Steam can certainly not complain at the moment. As expected, DOOM Eternal was able to clear a lot and the steam release of Borderlands 3 is also reflected in the charts:
- DOOM Eternal
- DOOM Eternal (pre-purchase)
- Borderlands 3
- Borderlands 3
- DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition (Pre-Purchase)
- Stellaris: Federations
- DOOM Eternal
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps
