Capcom will release a street fighter 5 Update next week, which includes two new filters and combat balance.
The update will fine-tune every role on the roster. In general, the combat balance update has made few adjustments to each character’s movement settings and stats. This means some attacks become faster, while others deal more damage or gain new special stats. Capcom’s team says it “has added some surprises as well,” so keep an eye out for those.
The game will also add two new visual filters. The Cel-Shaded filter adds an anime-inspired look to the fighter and its animations, while the pixel filter – which you can see above – mimics Street Fighter’s old-school arcade roots.
To keep things fair in online matches, these filters are limited to offline game modes.
This update also includes a new battle-themed remix from sound team band Cap-Jams. Until now, you could only listen to the remixes on the Street Fighter YouTube channel, but starting with this update, you’ll be able to set them as background battle tracks in the game.
With the arrival of Capcom Pro Tour 2022, to celebrate Capcom is adding new DLC, including special new colors and new stages for all characters. Known as Ring of the Arcade, it’s filled with Easter eggs that reference Capcom’s legacy.
The Street Fighter 5 Battle Balance update will roll out on March 29th and will be free for all players.
