Tales from the Borderlands is finally continuing. The best Telltale adventures after The Walking Dead: Season 1 – at least if you ask me – it’s supposed to be 2022 get its long overdue sequel. However, fans of the first part should be prepared for big changes, because Tales from the Borderlands 2 could be very different.
The (revived) development studio Telltale Games will not be responsible for the sequel, but Borderlands developers Gearbox itself. In addition, new characters will be the focus of the planned sequel – and thus not Rhys, Fiona and my beloved Loaderbot. All previously known information about the game can be found here in the article.

This is how the NEW Tales from the Borderlands
Story: There are currently no concrete details about the story of the new Tales from the Borderlands. In case of doubt, however, it could be about the fact that a vault has to be opened somewhere on Pandora. There are only a few exceptions in the Borderlands series where a game isn’t about it.
Gearbox is currently only hinting that the plot will focus on new characters. Rhys, Fiona and Co. will probably not be the focus of the story. However, fans should not rule out a reunion. After all, Rhys was also seen in Borderlands 3, for example.

Release: Tales from the Borderlands 2 is slated for release in 2022. However, it is not known when exactly. Since there is currently no trailer and no real screenshots for the new game, fans have to look forward to one right one
Waiting for the sequel to be unveiled this summer. We will keep you up to date.
Developer: Gearbox is the studio responsible for the new Tales from the Borderlands this time, not Telltale. It remains exciting to see whether the sequel will reinvent itself in a playful way and not become a thoroughbred point & click adventure. Since there is currently no gameplay for the sequel, we can only speculate about it.
By the way, there were already rumors of a season 2 for Tales from the Borderlands in 2020 with the resurrection of Telltale Games, which have now come true with the Gearbox announcement. The same leak also prophesied a sequel to The Wolf Among Us, which is actually in development at Telltale right now. You can get all information about it here:

(Again) announced: sequel comes from the “new” Telltale
What else does the future of Borderlands hold?
After Borderlands 3, fans of the co-op shooter series can currently let off steam in the spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. How well the offshoot with obvious D&D inspiration performs can of course be read in our test or in our video review:

A film adaptation of Borderlands is also in production. It should also appear in 2022, will be published by Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) and casts the likes of Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Ariana Greenblatt as well-known characters Lilith, Roland, Claptrap and Tiny Tina. There is currently no trailer or concrete date.
