There’s new GTA gameplay! No, don’t make the horses shy, not in GTA 6. The mod GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition
wants to port all content from GTA: Vice City into the engine of GTA 4, called RAGE.
And from this long-term project there is now a good load of real game scenes to see. By the way, we introduced the mod to you a few years ago under a different name.
A complete mission from Vice City
The newly released gameplay offers you the chance to experience a full mission, more specifically the Vice City story All Hands on Deck

Community enthusiasm: The mod developers received a lot of support in the comments section under the YouTube video. For example, the simple but crystal clear saying from sunderss:
This looks fantastic. Great work!
But that doesn’t look so great now…
Now some of you may think: But that looks pretty old-fashioned.
And yes, that’s true. But the goal of the GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition
What actually needs to be improved? According to current information, all models will be taken over from the original or the Definitive Edition. The general look should be retained, but there will probably be a number of improvements in these areas:
- Some textures
- Particle effects
- lighting
When will the mod be released? The modders are currently aiming for 2025. So it will take quite a while – and perhaps appear close to GTA 6. You can find the mod’s website here.
A warning: However, as of January 2024, it cannot be ruled out that Take 2 will put a stop to the project sooner or later – it would not be surprising given the past.

GTA 6 has to do THAT better!
A few days ago we also reported on a graphics mod for the original GTA: Vice City. This is currently working on completely redesigning the look of the classic using Nvidia’s Nvidia Remix technology, at least as far as lighting and shadows are concerned.
Grand Theft Auto is arguably one of, if not the most, well-known pure gaming brand outside of the cross-platform community of gamers. That’s why GTA 6 will probably keep the majority of all media companies busy long before its release. GameStar editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge has written an article about the importance of this hype. You can find it directly here.
