At the Super Bowl 2024 there were brand new film trailers and a few cool commercials to admire – oh yes, and a little football was played too. If you only watch the event afterwards, we won’t tell you who won at this point.
This is all about new film trailers. There were plenty of them at the huge sporting event. We have collected the most important of them for you in this overview.
Deadpool & Wolverine
2:25
Deadpool doesn’t believe much in the fourth wall in the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine
- Cinema release: July 26, 2024
- Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand
Let’s start straight away with what is probably the most important trailer for many out there. Or as the well-known saying goes: Let’s talk about the mutant in the room.
In the case of Deadpool 3 it would have to be called the mutants. After all, this is the first time the cheeky Deadpool meets Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) on the big screen – what? X-Men: Origins? We don’t know what you’re talking about.
In the only MCU film of the year, Deadpool, who is apparently initially retired, is rudely torn from his everyday life by the TVA (known from the Loki series). You can probably imagine what happens next: chaos, blood, funny sayings – oh yes, and a few adamantium claws that X-Men fans had to do without for many years.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
2:30
In the trailer for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, today’s time is just a legend
- Cinema release: 10. May 2024
- Cast: Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Travis Jeffery, Lydia Peckham
Around 300 years have passed since the last part of the popular film series. Since Caesar led his fellow creatures into an oasis, numerous groups have formed there, all of which naturally pursue their own interests.
Humans have now regressed into savages. Nevertheless, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes once again revolves around important human technology. Which one exactly? We’ll probably only find out on May 10, 2024, when the film opens in cinemas here.
A Quiet Place: Day One
1:38
A Quiet Place: Day One – Trailer shows how the downfall of humanity began
- Cinema release: 28. June 2024
- Cast: Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou
In the 2018 horror hit A Quiet Place, we got to know an earth where humanity has to be as quiet as a mouse. Why? Because deadly aliens with incredibly good hearing lurk everywhere. In the second part we didn’t really learn much about the events that led to the apocalypse.
This mystery will soon be over: A Quiet Place: Day One opens in theaters on June 28, 2024 and shows what happened on the very first day of the alien invasion. At the Super Bowl 2024, the trailer that was shown in advance was broadcast during the break, which is why we don’t want to withhold this potential horror hit in 2024 from you.
Wicked Part 1
1:00
The musical classic Wicked is now making the big leap into the cinema
- Cinema release: 27. November 2024
- Cast: Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum
The first half of the two-part film adaptation of the world-famous musical about the friendship between the witch Elphaba and the young Galinda in the magical world of Oz.
Wicked turns the well-known story around. What if Elphaba isn’t the evil one, but the events of The Wizard of Oz were simply told from the wrong perspective? You will get the answer to this – at least part of it – on November 27, 2024, when Wicked – Part 1 opens in cinemas.
The Fall Guy
1:00
The Fall Guy: The Ryan Gosling movie really has it all, the trailer claims
- Cinema release: 3. May 2024
- Cast: Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Director David Leitch is back with a new action film with a top-class cast. The film is loosely based on the 80s series A Gun for All Occasions and is about the aging stuntman Colt Seavers, who retired from the film business a long time ago.
But one day Seavers, of all people, is commissioned by director Jody Moreno to find the missing film star Tom Ryder. What follows is an action-packed ride.
Monkey Man
0:30
Monkey Man – Teaser for the unusual thriller by and with Dev Patel
- Cinema release: 5. April 2024
- Cast: Dev Patel, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sikandar Kher
Monkey Man is not a new superhero. Rather, it’s a guy who obviously likes pain. There’s no other way to explain why he puts on a gorilla mask every night in a fictional Asian metropolis and allows himself to be beaten up for money.
Or is there more to his strange pastime? We’ll find out on April 5, 2024, but at least 30 seconds from the unusual thriller have already been shown on the occasion of the Super Bowl 2024.
Everything is upside down 2
0:30
Everything is upside down 2 – Soon it will be really emotional in the cinema again
- Cinema release: 14. June 2024
- Cast: Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, Maya Hawke
The animated film Inside Out from 2015 was almost bursting with emotions. And we mean that in the truest sense of the word, after all, the plot revolved around a whole range of feelings that caused chaos in the girl Riley’s head and a lot of laughs for us.
This year – more precisely on June 14, 2024 – joy, sorrow, fear, anger and disgust return. The trailer above, which was shown for the first time at the Super Bowl, gives you a foretaste of the emotional comeback.
Kung Fu Panda 4
1:12
Kung Fu Panda 4 – After eight years, the animated series is back with a new trailer
- Cinema release: March 8, 2024
- Cast: Jack Black, Awkwafina, Viola Davis, Bryan Cranston, Ian McShane, Ke Huy Quan
Just a look at the voice cast above shows that there is a lot of star power in Kung Fu Panda 4 – and our furry dragon warrior Po can definitely use even more power, because in his new adventure he has to deal with the chameleon, a magician who can bring once defeated villains back to life.
You can already see: Kung Fu Panda 4 could be a real cameo festival for fans of the cinema series. But hey, after eight long years of waiting, they deserve it, right?!
Despicable Me 4
0:30
Despicable Me 4 makes it clear: AI is in good hands!
- Cinema release: July 3, 2024
- Cast: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier
The yellow, cuddly chaos guys are back and the short spot that was shown as part of the Super Bowl 2024 makes it clear: They haven’t forgotten how to attack our funny bones. Not much is known about the plot yet, but fans probably don’t need any more reasons to rush to the cinema on time on July 3rd anyway.
We already know this much: The former supervillain Gru is experiencing a new adventure, this time alongside his three adopted daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes. Well, and of course the Minions are back at the start.
Twisters
1:59
In the trailer for Twisters, people are chasing hurricanes
- Cinema release: July 19, 2024
- Cast: Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Daryl McCormack
Do you still remember the disaster film Twister from 1996 or have you caught up on this rather mediocre film over the years? Now the film is getting a sequel with the creative name Twisters. Because… it’s Hollywood, you always have to go the extra mile. In this case, the makers behind the film probably took this motto literally.
Of course, Twisters also has a plot: Former storm chaser Kate Cooper is lured back into the vast plains of the American wilderness by her friend Javi to test a new storm tracking system. You can already guess what happens shortly afterwards: terrible storms are approaching, which are causing major problems for the team.
That’s our summary of the most important film trailers from the Super Bowl 2024. Now, of course, we’re looking forward to your opinion: Which of the above films are you most looking forward to and why is it Deadpool 3? Little fun! Feel free to write us in the comments what and why your cinema highlight will be in 2024, we are excited!
