Spoiler warning: This post contains major spoilers for the plot of The Acolyte, so if you haven’t finished watching the series yet, you might want to consider reading another article.
The latest Star Wars series, The Acolyte, has now ended for the time being. But everyone is already thinking about Season 2 – at least if showrunner Leslye Headland has her way.
Fans of the dark side in particular could look forward to the sequel, as it is expected to cover the story of two Sith. However, as the subjunctive in the previous sentence already indicated, the continuation of the series has not yet been confirmed and is therefore uncertain.
The rule of two – but different
The Strangers
: One of the two important Sith in The Acolyte Season 2 is set to be Qimir (Manny Jacinto) aka the Stranger. That shouldn’t surprise anyone, after all he has already played a major role. However, there are still a few mysteries surrounding the versatile swordsman.
The sequel is expected to answer the questions of who the stranger really is, how his relationship with Osha (Amandla Stenberg) develops and whether he is really a Sith or even a Sith Master and how that will affect the Rule of Two
fits.
In addition, the plot could build on the suggestion that the stranger is apparently a former Jedi and was apparently trained by Vernestra Rwoh. In particular, the relationship between the two could play a major role.

The Acolyte: Which Star Wars era is the cast of the series passionate about? We asked!
Darth Plagueis: The much bigger surprise is the second Sith in the series, which was only shown in the season finale. We are talking about Darth Plagueis, who first appeared in Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
mentioned in a conversation between Chancellor Palpatine and Anakin Skywalker and now shown for the first time in live action.
As Darth Sidious’ master, it is not necessary to explain in detail why he is so important to Star Wars. Suffice it to say that his obsession with eternal life led to the biggest and probably most important turnaround of the entire franchise in Episode 3.
In an interview with Collider Headland has already revealed that Plagueis will definitely play a role in the new season and is involved in the same power that created Osha and Mae (Amandla Stenberg). It is suspected that there is a connection between the sisters and the discovery of eternal life.
If that’s the case, Headland says you’ll definitely find out in the sequel – if it comes at all.

The Acolyte: Disney already shows how the fights in the new Star Wars series were created
What about the sequel?
In an interview with The Nerdist Headland revealed that she still doesn’t know whether there will be a sequel or when the final decision will be made. However, she assumes that the decision-makers are currently discussing the extension.
Success despite review bombing: Although the success of the first season is overshadowed by massive review bombing, the first viewing figures show that The Acolyte is the second most successful Star Wars series on Disney Plus. At least the start of the season.
A second season therefore depends primarily on whether the later episodes can build on the success of the series’ launch and how this relates to the production costs. You can find more information about season 2 of The Acolyte in the corresponding article.
Now that The Acolyte has ended for the time being, we want to know what you think of the series. In the box above you will find an article with the corresponding survey. Alternatively, we would of course also be happy to receive a comment under this article. Our editor Vali is definitely convinced that the Star Wars series does not receive the love it deserves.
