The DC cinematic universe has several projects in hand and one of the most interesting is that of The Batman 2the sequel to the film in which Robert Pattinson plays the Dark Knight. Production on this sequel hasn’t even begun yet, but some of those in charge are convinced that it will be a very impressive feature film.
At least that’s what he’s hinted at. Mattson Tomlinco-writer of this second part, in an interview he gave to ScreenRantIn it he wanted to talk about how proud he feels to be able to work alongside Matt Reeves, the director of the previous film who is also in charge of the script, saying that he is trying to learn as much as possible from him.
Furthermore, what he did want to highlight is that this second installment will be so spectacular that without a doubt will set the bar high:
Filming is set to begin next year. We’re gearing up and I can say that the bar couldn’t be higher. It’s the sequel to the first one. But also, Matt Reeves is like no one else. In the five years that I’ve been working with him so closely, I’ve tried to absorb as much from him as humanly possible and I’m so grateful for the time we’ve had together because he’s a true artist working in a world where sometimes art doesn’t get to flourish and he’s trying to make something that really matters. So to be able to be on the journey and be a part of this process is incredible. I’m excited for the movie.
The Batman was released in all theaters in 2022, so this sequel is taking a while to arrive, but from Tomlin’s words it looks like it will be worth the wait. At least we won’t have to wait too long to enjoy this universe, since The Penguin series will be available on HBO starting in September 19th
In fact, this will be very important because it will be in charge of bridging the gap between the two films. The Batmanso it will be a good way to kill time until then. Otherwise, if everything goes according to plan, The Batman 2 will see the light on the big screen October 2, 2026.
