The fantasy film “The Crow” by director Rupert Sanders with Bill Skarsgård, FKA Twigs and Danny Huston in the leading roles starts on 12. September 2024 in German cinemas and is the new edition of the cult film “The Crow” from 1994. The film adaptation of the comic of the same name by James O’Barr is likely to attract comic fans in particular, but also fans of the popular cult classic from 1994 to the cinemas.
Fans who prefer the comfort of their own home ra ther than the cinema are probably already waiting for the home cinema premiere. But when will that happen?
When and where will “The Crow” be streamed?
It is not yet clear when “The Crow” will be available for streaming at home. The theatrical release is only imminent. Depending on the box office success, several months usually pass between the theatrical release and the streaming release. The box office results play a decisive role in this. The more successful the film is in the cinemas, the later it will have its home cinema premiere.
The cinema titles are usually first available as digital video-on-demand versions on Amazon Prime Video and Co. before they then find their way to the streaming platforms.
It is also not possible to say exactly which streaming service “The Crow” will ultimately end up on. Previously, Lionsgate, the production studio behind “The Crow”, released the films on its own streaming service Lionsgate+. However, the studio announced at the beginning of November 2022 that the streaming service would be discontinued in Germany and other countries and would only be available until January 15, 2023.

The disc release of “The Crow” is still a while away. When that will happen remains to be seen. The DVD and Blu-ray are usually released shortly after the VoD release.
