The first of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s additional racetracks are available on Switch. But before trying out this first wave of eight tracks, you need to install the 2.0 patch.
Not Mario Kart 9, but a maxi DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, part of which is already accessible. In fact, it is this Friday, March 18th that Nintendo puts in the first eight additional circuits. But before you take on AI and online gamers, you need to make sure you’re up to speed.
The 8 circuits of the wave are here!
You can dust off Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with Wave 1 of Additional Tracks, which includes the eight tracks below.
Golden Turbo Cup
- Walking Tour in Paris (Mario Kart Tour)
- Circuit Toad (Mario Kart 7)
- Chocolate Mountain (Mario Kart 64)
- Coco Supermarket (Mario Kart Wii)
Coupe maneki-neko
- Through Tokyo (Mario Kart Tour)
- Corniche Mushroom (Mario Kart DS)
- Flying Garden (Mario Kart: Super Circuit)
- Dojo Ninja (Mario Kart Tour)
If you’ve ever planned on getting them, the cheapest option is to buy the Circuit Pass for $24.99 versus $4.99 for the DLC individually. Otherwise, the other solution is to take out a premium subscription to Nintendo Switch Online for $39.99. In this case, in addition to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Pass, you’ll have access to Mega Drive and N64 classics, as well as Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise content.
The next tracks are still secret, but not the names of the cuts that are visible since the last patch. So here is the list:
- Cut turnip
- Propeller Cup
- rock cup
- Moon Cup
- fruit bowl
- Coupe boomerang
- feather cut
- cherry cut
- cup cup
- Blue conch shell
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: an update 2.0.0
The 2.0 update was largely used to prepare the game for the arrival of the new circuits. However, it’s also used to fix small things like reducing an item crate’s respawn time after it’s been stolen by a competitor.
An error could occur in 12-player matchmaking for online races that should no longer occur. And if you want to enjoy the title on site, you have to keep all participants up to date. Finally, Nintendo also made some non-detailed changes to improve gameplay.
