The trailer already promises an exchange of blows between Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Sauron (Charlie Vickers) as well as the eagerly awaited appearance of the Balrog.
As of now, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 3 has not been officially confirmed, but we can be sure that the finale will also leave some plot elements open so that fans have something to look forward to in the coming seasons Relays can look forward to.
This is how you see the trailer for the season finale of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2
In order to promote the upcoming episodes, Amazon does not publish trailers on YouTube; instead, you can always find brief insights into the upcoming episodes on Prime Video itself. To do this, you have to click on the tab as marked in the image above Discover go.
Then you select the respective bonus video for the current episode. In this case “Insight of episode 7”. At the beginning of the 10-minute video there is a short trailer for the season finale.
Sauron’s master plan works
In the seventh episode of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2, Galadriel flees with the 9 Rings of Men. Sauron captures Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) and demands to know where the rings are. In the trailer we see that there will be a showdown between Galadriel and Sauron.
Anyone who knows the book knows that Sauron will get the rings and ultimately distribute them to the human kings in order to put his master plan into action. With the help of the One Ring he wants to control the other rings and their wearers!
Durin’s Curse
Another core event that the series builds towards is the battle with the Balrog of Morgoth, which causes destruction in Khazad-dum. In the original book, the Balrog’s awakening only takes place around 3,000 years later; in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2, this now seems to take place much earlier.
It’s been clear since the first season that the Balrog lives beneath the mines of Khazad-dum, and for several episodes the shafts have been threatening to collapse more and more as Durin III (Peter Mullan) continues to mine incessantly. It is essential that the Balrog makes his big appearance in the season finale.
In the already released soundtrack there is a track called “Durin’s Bane”. The Balrog of Khazad-dum is referred to as “Durin’s Curse” because it slays King Durin III. This means that not only a Balrog appearance can be expected, but also the death of Durin III in the fight with the Balrog.
The seizure of power on Númenor
The plot on Númenor is also pushed forward again in the finale. Pharazon (Trystan Gravelle) seizes power over the island kingdom and imposes severe punishments on all loyalists who want to continue following the path of the Eldar, including Elendil (Lloyd Owen).
We know from Tolkien’s original that Pharazon will break new ground with Númenor and will probably sail to Middle-earth again in season 3 to fight in a major battle against Sauron and ultimately capture him.
Every Thursday there is a new episode of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video. The finale will be released next week, but “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” season 3 is already being worked on!
