What are the likes and dislikes in The Sims 4?
“Like” and “dislike” determine the preferences of several different types of simulated users: colour, music, Hobbies and skills, And (if you have installed Dream Home Decorator) Fashion sense.
You can use likes and dislikes to supplement the Sim’s ambitions and personality to determine their personality. However, you can set “like” and “dislike” completely separately, and are not restricted by other aspects of their personality.
Who said that muscular bodybuilders don’t like pink clothes and Queen Anne’s furniture? Or did the well-behaved member of society end up doing meticulous pranks on the enemy? Snob dyed wool likes to listen to cheesy Christmas music all year round? Whether to use the new system to simulate the existing personality of citizens or to give them some unexpected new depth is entirely up to you.
Of course, a mixed method is always good. You can set up to 20 “likes” and “dislikes” for each Sim, so you can set the color tone freely, while still throwing strange curve balls.
Like and dislike: color
According to your Sim’s preferences, you can choose from 11 colors. As you might expect, they are: black, white, brown, gray, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink.
The colors that Sim likes and dislikes will affect their reaction to the decoration in Dream Home Decorator.
Likes and dislikes: music
The music preferences are based on the radio stations in the game. Which of these you have access to depends on the additional content you have installed. Even if you only have the basic game, there will be 13 kinds of music to choose from.
Any radio station in your package that can be played on normal stereo can be liked or disliked. The only thing your Sims can’t express their preference is Get Together’s technology-locked DJ station and the DJ R-3X stereo station locked by the Journey to Batuu project.
Listening to or dancing to favorite music will make Sims more powerful and happy than the basis of these activities, and their entertainment needs will increase faster.
However, listening to or dancing to a concert that you don’t like brings tension, and Sim’s need for fun will decrease rather than increase.
Likes and dislikes: hobbies and skills
The options for likes and dislikes and skills are drawn directly from the skills you have available in the game. What exactly is depends on the additional content you have installed. Even if you only have the basic game, you should have 17 hobbies and skills.
Please note that not all skills in the game and its add-ons fall into this category, and it is not clear what is behind the inclusion and omission. For more details, see the table below:

Sims who participate in activities they like will receive more positive emotions, and they will have fun even if the activity does not usually grant them fun. If you open a free will, they are also more likely to do this activity automatically.
On the other hand, Sims who participate in activities they don’t like will get a nervous mood, and if they are forced to continue, they will become increasingly unhappy. They will never choose to do activities that they don’t like.
The hobbies and skills that Sims like and dislike will affect their reaction to Dream Home Decorator decoration. In addition, sims who are particularly passionate may require decorations based on this skill, for example, a studio for sims who like to paint.
Like and dislike: decoration
This genre is only available when you have Dream Home Decorator installed. The options for decorating preferences are drawn directly from the styles available in the installed content.
The decoration styles that simulated users like and dislike will affect their reaction to the decoration in Dream Home Decorator.

How to set Sims’ preferences in The Sims 4
After installing the new update, you can set “Simulate user’s likes and dislikes” in “Create Simulation”.
The new “likes and dislikes” tab will appear in the same area of the screen, where you can select Sim’s personality.it is at[愿望]The bottom right corner of the label should read ? If your Sim does not like or dislike it, it is within the hexagon.
After setting at least one “like” or “dislike”, the icon will change, and you can hover your mouse over the icon to see a list of all Sim’s likes and dislikes.
You can set “likes and dislikes” for Sims of children and above.
For characters that are not played, “likes and dislikes” don’t seem to be filled automatically unless you select a Sim in the “Dream Home Decorator” as your client. This means that the pre-made Sims and Sims in can save the information you started before the update, and they will not have any “likes” or “dislikes” until you set them up by yourself.
During the game, “like” and “dislike” are now displayed in Simulation The panel below the feature. (By the way, after successive new Simology features pushed Traits halfway through the list, the new update pushed Traits back to the top of the panel. I’m very happy to see Traits back to the top of them.)
There is also a convenient new Enter to create a simulation Buttons on the panel. You can click this button at any time in the game to go to a restricted version of CAS, such as the version obtained when Sim uses a mirror or dressing table to change its appearance. You cannot change Sim’s basic information or genetic information here, but you can change its appearance and their “likes” and “dislikes”.
If simulated users are indifferent to their interests/skills activities for several hours in the game, it may eventually affect their “likes” and “dislikes”.
If they show positive emotions during their participation, after a while, you will have the option to add them to their “likes”. If they have negative emotions, they have the opportunity to deepen their “dislikes.”

Players who have owned a franchise for a period of time may realize that “likes” and “dislikes” are similar to the “favorites” system in The Sims 3. However, there are some key differences, so we conducted a side-by-side comparison:
