TWD curator Scott M. Gimple's spin-off plan
Has Michonne's "The Walking Dead" exit from Season 10 returned? TWD curator Scott M. Gimple reveals Michonne's future in the growing “The Walking Dead” universe.
Michonne's journey in The Walking Dead ended temporarily because of the "what have we become" incident. This episode represents the farewell of actress Danai Gurira in the AMC series, while the return of the character Michonne is still lurking on the horizon. TWD curator Scott M. Gimple talked about Michonne's future in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
So far, there are firm plans to include Michonne in the TWD feature film, which will also be reunited with Rick Grimes. Since Michonne was planning to find Rick in Season 10 of The Walking Dead, her appearance in the film is a logical step. Gimple also considers transferring Michonne to her own work beforehand. Gimple didn't want to reveal whether this might be a mini-series or his own movie. Usually, in a typical Gimple manner, he keeps a low profile, which means that his statements should be treated with caution.
Although Michonne does have a good chance of appearing in the upcoming Rick Grimes movie, it should be remembered that Danai Gurira has left TWD for other projects. There must be enough material for Michonne's spin-off, but in the end it depends on how often Danai Gurira wants to swing the credits.
