“The Wheel of Time” on Amazon Prime Video presents the character Logain as extremely powerful. Netzwelt explains the power of the false kite.
- In episode 4 of “The Wheel of Time” Logain Ablar takes on many powerful opponents at the same time.
- Is the figure even more powerful than the reborn dragon?
- In the following you will learn everything about his connection to the One Power.
“House of Money” star Álvaro Morte (The Professor!) Makes a formidable appearance in the 4th episode of “The Wheel of Time”. The Morte played Logain, a prisoner of the Aes Sedai, demonstrates all his strength in the last moments of episode 4 of the Amazon Prime show. The assembled power leaders around Moiraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike) cannot really stop him. Only the intervention of seer Nynaeve (Zoë Robbins) brings the turning point.
Although it is already clear in “The Wheel of Time” that Logain Ablar is not the reborn dragon, the figure clearly has a strong connection to the One Power. So how powerful is Logain compared to the Dragon Reborn?
“The wheel of time”: Logain’s powers explained
The Aes Sedai are in the world of “The Wheel of Time” in search of the reincarnation of Lews Therin. He was the highest of the Aes Sedai and stronger in One Power than anyone else. In fact, Logain Ablar poses in episode 4 of the Amazon Prime show as the most powerful of the so-called false dragons so far.
In the world of “The Wheel of Time” some characters are simply born with a particularly strong connection to the One Power. There is absolute inequality in this regard. Power directors can practice and train as much as they want, and yet their strength will never come close to characters like Logain or Nynaeve.
It is also important to remember here that Logain is a man. While men run the risk of losing their minds because of the stain on Saidin in the exercise of the One Power, but that doesn’t mean they are weaker. Traditionally, even the male power directors are stronger.
Logain is therefore more powerful than any active member of the Aes Sedai. Even Moiraine, who is presented as the most powerful power leader in “The Wheel of Time”, would be defeated in a direct duel with Logain.
The grand finale of episode 4 now suggests that Seer Nynaeve has the potential to be the most powerful of all the female characters on the show. But in Robert Jordan’s master books even she doesn’t come close to Logain’s powers.
Logain versus the Dragon Reborn
The reborn dragon surpasses Logain in power – but not as much as one might think. The difference between the reborn dragon and Logain is not that great. In Robert Jordan’s novels, only a handful of characters come close to Logain’s strength in One Power – and most of them are members of the lost, those immortal elect who serve the Dark King.
Warning: now there will be spoilers for future episodes of “The Wheel of Time”!
Will Logain get his power back in “The Wheel of Time”?
The question of the power of the false kite Logain Ablar does not seem to arise after episode 4 of the Amazon Prime show. Eventually it was subdued by the Aes Sedai and thus separated from the One Power. As far as the characters know, this process cannot be reversed. Logain is likely to fall into depression and possibly even kill himself – very similar to the nephew of Thom Merrilin (Alexandre Willaume) mentioned in episode 4.
In Robert Jordan’s books, Logain is actually vegetating as a prisoner in the White Castle. But then he escapes and travels the world with Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo).
Much later in the literary model, Nynaeve then discovers a new method of healing and accidentally reverses Logain’s steaming. Then the character becomes a major player in the world of “The Wheel of Time” – but this time on the side of the good guys.
