It is known that CD Projekt Red’s RPG hit The Witcher 3 gets a NextGen update. We don’t yet know what the redesigned graphics will look like. Or maybe yes? Because according to the developer of the HD reworked mod, the developer studio asked him about a cooperation.
Does the NextGen version of The Witcher 3 look like the Mod HD Reworked?
Mod developer Halk Hogan has achieved great success with his “The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project”. According to Nexusmods the mod was downloaded over 4.1 million times. His work swaps the textures of the original for more detailed ones and also reworks some models in role play. Videos show how The Witcher 3 visually changes through its work:

However, the modification has been quiet lately and there is a very specific reason for that. Halk Hogan explained the radio silence to his community:
“Hello my dear friends! It’s been a long time since the last video. I know I announced a new HDRP preview in early March, but I’ve been quiet the whole time. I’m sorry. But I have one for that some good news, and good reasons why I was so quiet and why I didn’t have too much to show.
I think the most important news is that I got an official message from CDPR about a collaboration. While it’s not yet certain, it is very likely that HDRP will be included in the official NextGen update. I will let you know what happens next. As always, I would like to thank you for all your support and kind words. ”

CD Projekt Red has even faced each other on this Kotaku and said:
“In addition to our own development work on the upcoming NextGen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5 and PC, we are also in discussions with developers of various mods for the 2015 version of the game.”
So it is not yet certain that there will be a cooperation. But if CDPR were to work with Halk Hogan, then we could already a glimpse into the NextGen version of The Witcher 3 receive. All you have to do is download the HD-Reworked-Mod (via Nexusmods).
Even if CDPR cooperates with Halk Hogan, The Witcher 3’s NextGen update should offer more than just the more detailed textures of the mod. For example, there is talk of ray tracing supportwhat will affect the lighting and thus the atmosphere:
