A Plague Tale Requiem may not have been released
It might seem more than weird and surprising today, but yeah, a sequel to A Plague Tale Innocence didn’t come naturally to the Bordeaux folks at Asobo Studio. It was Kevin Pinson, Lead Level Designer, who shared this confidence during an interview PCGamesN
It hasn’t been played before. Firstly, we know we are a small team as we were about forty people. So we put our hearts into A Plague Innocence and did whatever we wanted.. So the response to the game was huge for us – we read everything: every feedback, every feedback.
And yet, after all the kind words from the press and players, doubts remained about the next project and the continuation of this franchise.
When we saw the reception we considered what we wanted to do next – it wasn’t obvious there would be a sequel. We are driven by storytelling, so we thought about the story first. It made sense to bring Hugo and Amicia back and follow their adventure. That’s how we started. It was mainly the reception of the game that made us think about the sequel

As for a third opus, all in good time.

Not wanting to put the cart before the horse, Asobo Studio is primarily concentrating on A Plague Tale Requiem rather than their next title. Does A Plague Tale 3 have a chance to enter development? Maybe, but nothing is planned at the moment and teams will make their decision after the release.
To be completely transparent, we have no idea. Let’s see how the game fares. As I said for the first work, we waited for the feedback to know what to do. What is certain is that we have not planned anything.
