Skyblivion, the Oblivion remake project in the Skyrim engine, is progressing well with a view to its 2025 release, although some minor bugs still exist.
The Skyblivion project, which aims to recreate The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in the Skyrim engine, continues to make significant progress. Developed by a team of passionate modders, this colossal mod promises to bring one of the most famous RPGs back to life, giving it a visual and technical update thanks to the capabilities of the game engine. Classic quests remastered for this Skyrim mod
Recently, the developers of Skyblivion released new gameplay footage highlighting quests that are well known to Oblivion fans. Among these, the quests “Fingers of the Mountain” and “The Killing Field” have been reworked with particular attention to detail. These sequences show how much the Skyrim mod team strives to remain faithful to the original while making significant improvements to graphics and immersion. For example, the town of Chorrol, one of the first places players visit in Oblivion, has been recreated with a visual richness that was not possible in the original game.
Although the project has made tremendous progress, it is not without its flaws, as project lead Kyle Rebel pointed out. In the current video, some characters still suffer from typical Skyrim rendering issues, such as color errors on faces. Rebel wanted to make it clear that these flaws are known and that the team prefers to show them rather than hide them, thus offering an honest view of the current state of the project.
Despite these minor flaws, the team behind this free Skyrim content is confident that the mod will be released in 2025. Development is progressing steadily, but the team is still looking for volunteers to help complete the project. The goal is to deliver a finished product that meets the high expectations of The Elder Scrolls fans. In addition, the team has announced that they will share more details on the progress of the Skyrim mod by the end of the year.
