News receipt plan This NVMe SSD for the PS5 is at a very good price!
On PC, but also and especially on PS5, NVMe SSDs are essential complements to store your games. And among them, the Samsung 980 Pro is an excellent model currently on sale on Amazon at a very good price!
To solve the main problem of the PlayStation 5, nothing better than a good NVMe SSD! In fact, the Sony console can be an excellent way to play games, however, it remains quite limited in its storage. 4K 120 frames per second (on a suitable screen) is good, but being able to save those games quietly is still quite nice. Especially as Triple A’s are more and more GB greedy these days, some easily exceeding 100GB.
Luckily, Sony didn’t let its gamers down when creating its console, as the company installed an M.2 connector on its console, which allows you to connect an NVMe SSD to it, thus saving a lot of space. One of these that is compatible (and of very good quality) is the Samsung 980 Pro, available in both 1TB and 2TB versions on Amazon today at a great price!
- In fact, instead of $424.70, the 2 TB version costs $248.59 (41% discount)
- And instead of $220.20, the 1 TB version costs $126.08 (43% discount)
With these two models, you can benefit from a free payment in 4 installments to spread the cost if necessary.

Samsung 980 Pro: a powerful NVMe SSD for PC and PS5
If the PC only asks whether you have an M.2 port available, the PS5 is a bit more complex when looking for an SSD.
- First, the SSD must be Gen 4×4.
- Then the memory must be between 250 GB and 4 TB.
- The format must be 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, or 22110
- Its sequential read speed should be at least 5500 MB/s
- Finally, it needs to have a heatsink (and be the right size to install)
However, if all points are perfect with this 980 Pro, you need to add a heatsink to install it in your console. The advantage is that you can now find them on Amazon for a cheap price.
- Buy heatsinks on Amazon for $7.99
This NVMe in the M.2 2280 form factor has a maximum sequential read speed of 7000MB/s, which is simply outstanding. For comparison, it’s 12.7 times faster than more traditional SATA SSDs. Basically, it has good thermal control and therefore does not need a heatsink in most PC configurations, although it is mandatory on PS5.
