Few things make us happier than a good Pokémon theory, like this one that tells us that the Pokémon world is very similar to ours, or this one that inquires about the number of inhabitants of each Pokémon Region. Today's, tries to establish a link in the ecological niche of the species of the saga, in this case, of Meowth, Sandshrew and Pikachu.
According 13LuckyNumber on Reddit, these three known Pokémon would be related by your position in the Pokédex and your numbers in it, as well as for its typology. That is, Meowth has the number 52while Pikachu flaunts the 25, which are the same by changing the order of the figures and, it is assumed, that this was done to focus on Mewoth as Pikachu's predator (cat and mouse).
But it still goes further and establishes another link between Pikachu and Sandshrew which has to do, first, with their types, because the Earth wins the electric one, and the fact that the evolutionary line of Sandshrew feeds on mice. Being thus another predator of Pikachu that, in addition, is located immediately then in the Pokédex.
