Do you like robots disguised as other mechs? You may be pleased to hear that the recent Transformers: Reactivated.
Revealed earlier this week at The Game Awards, Transformers: Reactivated is the latest entry from Gears Tactics and Brink developer Splash Damage. You remember Brink, right? It has parkour! And guns! Anyway, Transformers: Reactivated, the latest entry from Splash Damage, is clearly an online action game for 1 to 4 players, and unsurprisingly, you get to play as some of the series’ famous characters.
As is standard with most games these days, the trailer doesn’t have any gameplay to show off, instead opting for a cinematic look to showcase what we can expect from the title. The trailer shows us the one and only Bumblebee in first-person, with a group of people trying to fix him after he appears to be knocked out during some sort of robotic alien invasion. It’s also set up by Bon Jovi for an incredible theatrical version of Wanted or Alive, which honestly sucks, but hey, Transformers are cool, so it’s fun to see new games.
The next day (December 9), Splash Damage also announced that it had acquired Battalion 1944 developer Bulkhead, which will now also be working on Transformers: Reactivated.
“It’s a new era,” the official Bulkhead wrote twitter account“It’s been an honor to be acquired by the developer of the games we grew up playing. Everyone at Bulkhead is ready to show the world what we’re capable of with the right partner. Let’s make some f****** disgusting shooter”
A closed beta for Transformers: Reactivate is planned for sometime in 2023, and when the game launches, it will be available on PC, PS5, and the Xbox family of consoles, but it hasn’t been specified where the beta will take place.
