PlayStation will be present at the largest Chinese video game fair. The publisher will take the opportunity to announce news about two expected exclusive titles.
Before Gamescom, ChinaJoy 2023 will take place. A must-attend event in China, the show dedicated to entertainment will showcase many video games from China as well as from around the world. The opportunity for publishers to make eye-catching announcements and for audiences to sample some of the upcoming productions. For several years, Sony has occupied an important place in it. The publisher has actually launched its China Hero Project, an initiative aimed at supporting the development of games in the country for its PS4 and PS5 home consoles. The project has so far resulted in titles such as ANNO: Mutationem or FIST Forged in Shadow Torch, and the manufacturer doesn’t want to stop there.
Two anticipated PS5 games will announce their news
The event to take place from 27 to 31 July 2023 will therefore be an opportunity to learn more about two particularly anticipated PS5 games. On the one hand Lost soul aside, which was somewhat unfairly nicknamed the “Chinese FF15” for a long time after its announcement in 2016. What was an independently developed project a few years ago is now under the auspices of Sony and Tencent and almost thirty people are working on it. This action role-playing game is more inspired by a certain Devil May Cry, with a protagonist who can count on a creature that can transform into different weapons. We should therefore have news about this PlayStation exclusive for the current year 2024. Chinese players who go there can try it too. We should therefore have the right to at least new gameplay.
The nice surprise of the PlayStation Showcase in May should also redesign the presentations. Phantom Blade 0 will be on display at ChinaJoy 2023. The very first AAA game from Chinese studio S-Game, released exclusively for PS5, immediately stood out for its Nioh and Wo Long Dynasty melodies, but above all for its spectacular animations. In this game, players take on the role of Soul, an elite assassin serving an elusive organization. He is accused of murdering their leader and seriously injured. He has 66 days to search for the real killer while facing powerful enemies. Given the success of the license in Asia (more than 20 million players), Phantom Blade Zero should have a very eye-catching appearance at the show.
