We’ve known for some time that Until Dawn will be made into a film and now another important step in production has been reached.
Video game adaptations seem to be the big trend right now, with mixed results. While Fallout or The Last of Us became insane successes, the Borderlands film ended up straight in the digital bin, just three weeks after its lousy theatrical release.
Until Dawn is also expected to be a success, the hope of the production company Ballistic Moon, which has just tried to stabilize itself through layoffs. But the film is progressing well.
It was confirmed over the weekend that filming for the film, which began in August, has now been completed. The horror film was shot in Budapest. A step towards releasing the film as planned in October 2025.
Until Dawn, the adaptation of the PS4 video game, is created under the care of Gary Dauberman (screenplay and producer). Dauberman has, among other things, supervised the Annabelle films as well as the 2017 film adaptation of It as a screenwriter and also directed Annabelle 3 himself.
The cast includes Maia Mitchell (The Fosters, Good Trouble, No Way Out), Belmont Cameli (Because of you) and the well-known Peter Stormare. Stormare will reprise his role from the original game as Dr. Hill repeat.
If you don’t really remember Until Dawn, you can now have fun with the newly released PS5 remaster.
