The successful title Valorant from Riot Games was previously reserved for the PC, but that will soon change – because a console version is now officially on the way.
The popular free-to-play tactical shooter Valorant from the League of Legends makers Riot Games was previously reserved for PCs, but is now finally making the leap to consoles. At the Summer Game Fest last night, a corresponding version for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 was announced.
This console version is scheduled to be officially released later in 2024, but until then there will at least be a limited beta soon. This beta test phase will start next week on June 14th on the platforms mentioned. As soon as the bugs identified as a result of this beta have been eliminated and the player feedback has been evaluated, the final version of Valorant will be available to all players worldwide.
Registrations for the beta are possible on this website
Riot Games also made it clear that there will be no cross-play between PC and console. This is to preserve the standard of competitive integrity established on PC, as the game has been specifically adapted to be controlled via controller on consoles.
However, both PC and console players will receive updates, agents, maps and premium content simultaneously in the future; no platform will be given preference.
