After the Valorant Masters Madrid tournament, Valorant Senior Vice President and Executive Producer Anna Donlon answered a question about whether Valorant Agents will appear in Riot Games’ upcoming fighting game: 2XKO. Answer? Surprisingly no!
“I wouldn’t rule it out,” Donlon replied. “We wanted to see how 2XKO performed. We’re very excited to bring this game to players.”
She continued, “I don’t think we have any immediate plans to bring the two worlds together, but I would definitely not rule it out. I think if that’s what players in this community are looking for, we’d be very open to it.” is a great question! We’ve definitely thought about this, and I could definitely see that happening. ”
This is surprising since 2XKO is technically a League of Legends fighting game. According to the official 2XKO website, this is how the game is described. “2XKO, formerly known as Project L, is Riot Games’ upcoming 2v2 team fighting game in collaboration with League of Legends champions.” Of course, all of the previously announced fighters, like Yasuo and Illaoi, are League of Legends champions.
It’s worth noting that whenever the question of guest characters like this is posed to game developers, the answer is rarely a strict “no.” For example, Harada from the Tekken 8 team is constantly inundated with requests for future DLC characters, and his response is either “Thanks for showing interest” or “Don’t ask me anything!” depending on his mood and needs. Politeness of request. The same goes for Ed Boon from NetherRealm, who is notorious for being inundated with hungry beggars eager for Mileena’s return to Mortal Kombat, even though the character itself has been garbage for the past 30 years. Again, he would never say no outright.

So this statement, while interesting, is largely hedging its bets on the part of Riot Games. I’m sure that’s true – I have no doubt Agents of Valorant was considered for 2XKO, along with a thousand other crazy ideas – but actually locking in on the idea and moving forward with it is another thing entirely. For those curious about how to answer fan questions, Donlon basically presents a masterclass in media training here. She didn’t say yes, she didn’t say no, she didn’t promise anything, she complimented the person who asked. Perfect mark.
This is not to say that it is impossible. We know that 2XKO will be offering some stylish cosmetics for its fighters, and the Valorant skin is likely to be popular. Or hey, maybe they’ll go all out and add Valorant agents to the roster. In games that haven’t launched yet, anything is possible. Maybe if you just hold on to hope, it will happen.
