One of the more well-known series from Ubisoft, namely Watch_Dogs, is now set to come to the big screen. A film implementation is now gaining momentum at a studio.
Like the renowned magazine Deadline reports, you can look forward to a film based on the Ubisoft action series Watch_Dogs in the medium term. Accordingly, the film adaptation has now received the green light from the New Regency Media studio and is going into production there. Accordingly, the casting has now started, so that the roles to be filled can now be assigned gradually.
Among other things, the actress Sophie Wilde, known from “Talk To Me” and “Eden”, is already in talks for an important role in the live-action adaptation of Ubisoft’s open-world action series.
Specific details about the film adaptation are currently being kept strictly secret; Even members of the production team are sometimes not aware of these at the moment. If the film adaptation sticks close to the template that started with the first part in 2014, then the film will also revolve around a hacker as the protagonist who may take on the mysterious Blume Corporation. The latter created ctOS, an intelligent operating system that controls everything.
It can be assumed that the themes taken up in the games such as rebellion, stealth, technology, action and crime will also be taken up in the film. It will be interesting to see whether this will take a more futuristic direction or not. And: The chosen setting is also an exciting topic. Does the film end up in Chicago from the first part, San Francisco from part 2 or even London from the third part? Or do you choose an approach that is separate from the games in another city? The next few months should provide more clarity.
