The survival hit Valheim hadn’t expected its own success. And although the updates are delayed because of this, a lot of new content is planned for 2021. Here we give you an overview of what exactly is to come.

New added: New information about the Hearth and Home update
Four major expansions
The biggest content in 2021 will be split into four updates, each expanding a different aspect of the game.
1. Hearth and Home
This update is primarily intended for Build mode and your own shelter expand. There will also be more to eat. You will receive new recipes and additional resources such as seeds or plants.
In one Blogpost On Steam, the developers gave a little preview of Hearth and Home. On the one hand, bosses and the troll in Valheim are being revised. Defined muscles, toenails, and more hair are supposed to give the troll a better look:
On the other hand, there is more to the update. With two other pictures, the developers remained very mysterious and asked the fans to guess:

2. Cult of the Wolves
This update extends the World creation per se. You should find interesting places more often and the fights themselves will be expanded. There will also be side quests in the course of which you will come across the eponymous cult of wolves.
3. Ships and Sea
The name is program: Ships and seafaring are being expanded. Among other things, there are features such as decorating your boats with colorful shields. In addition, you should be able to discover a lot more during your travels on the high seas.
4. Mistlands
Behind this update is hidden a completely new biome: The Fog Lands. Strictly speaking, they are actually already in the game, but so far they offer almost no content. That will change in the future.
In addition to a new world boss, you will also find other smaller opponents and previously unknown resources here. It is also only the first new area. In the end, nine regions should be available, five of which are already in the game.

Features without a release date
While the four addons mentioned are already safe, there are still some a list of featureswhich the developer wants to do, but which are still pending and therefore have no release date.

- Teergruben
- Expansion of the dealer inventory
- Svartalfr Briganden
- More unique places
- Sandbox-Modus
- Munin (another raven besides Hugin)
There are not yet any great details about these planned changes.
What else could come?
Ash lands: The developer has not yet commented on this, but the Aschelande are another potential candidate for an update. Because they behave similarly to the foggy lands. Here you can already mine resources, but you cannot use them yet. It would only make sense for an upcoming update to add more content here.
