Game news Xbox: After Starfield, another Microsoft ban postponed by several months
On the Microsoft exclusivity side, the end of the year is definitely going to be grim! After the departure of Starfield, Redfall and STALKER 2: The Heart of Chornobyl for 2023, it is the turn of another exclusive title from the Redmond-based company whose release date has been pushed back by several months.
One less game for 2022
On paper, the end of 2022 should have been excellent for Microsoft and its Game Pass, since the American manufacturer could bet on the arrival of Redfall to punctuate its summer, or even that of STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl and especially Starfield, the space adventure by Bethesda Softworks. But unfortunately, the release date of the three promising titles has been pushed back to 2023 for a number of reasons – some much more serious than others. At the end of the year, however, Microsoft could still count on the arrival games with less expensive developments such as As Dusk Falls, available since July 19th, Immortality, which lands on Game Pass on August 30th, or Planet of Lana. Nevertheless, there is a small program change for this production.
Planet of Lana, it’s not for this year
During E3 2021, Planet of Lana came to seduce everyone with its obvious artistic fibre, heavily inspired by the recognizable leg among thousands of Studio Ghibli. Since its unveiling, the game, signed by Thunderful, the publisher, and Wishfully, the developer, has featured fully hand-painted decorations, as well as a colorful duo. Unfortunately, the title that should make us an unforgettable adventure will be postponed for several months before the end of the year.
We’re sorry that Planet of Lana is taking longer than expected to develop, but we promise it will be worth the wait. Planet of Lana is a project that’s been close to our hearts for a long time, and we want to be sure people will have it in pristine condition when it finally releases. Plus, Game Pass users will be able to play it on release day, which we’re really excited about as it means we can share it with the widest possible fan base! Adam Stjarnljus, director of Wishfully
You got it, to get your hands on Planet of Lana you’ll have to wait patiently until spring 2023. Unfortunately we don’t have any further details other than that the game will indeed be available on Game Pass at launch and that everything will be playable on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
