Microsoft ended the Xbox Showcase with a hardware showcase that caught no one’s expectations. The Xbox lineup is getting a new Series S variant, Xbox Series S Carbon Black.
Colors aside, the new console has double the storage (1TB) compared to the Series S it released.
The Xbox Series S Carbon Black costs $350, which is $50 more than the white Series S. The new console will arrive on September 1st.
Considering that Microsoft may have just released a new color variant of the existing Series S, the storage upgrade is certainly surprising. However, the console will also accept expanded storage like all other consoles in the series.
Before showing off the Carbon Black, Xbox head Phil Spencer said that Microsoft has been working to increase the supply of Xbox consoles, so hopefully you’ll be able to buy a new console without any hassle.
