Microsoft says that the "quick recovery" feature of the Xbox Series X can support at least three games at a time.
A detailed report from Digital Foundry shows that the Xbox Series X spec states that Fast recovery This feature supports at least three Xbox X-series games at a time.
The quick resume feature allows players to jump back to the game in seconds and browse different saved game states without having to load the game.
The Digital Foundry report states that they watched this feature cycle through four games. Forza 7 runs in 4K60 Xbox One mode, "Rotten State 2", "Hell's Blade" and the Xbox 360 game "The Cave". The less memory the game uses, the more titles can be cached this way for quick recovery.
The report said: "Microsoft did not share the actual size of the SSD cache for fast recovery, but said the feature supports at least three X-series games."
The Xbox Series X specifications unveiled today illustrate what Microsoft's next Xbox really has, and how it compares to the current Xbox One X. When making backward-compatible games playable on the Xbox Series X, developer Coalition thought it only took two weeks to run the RTX 2080 standard on the Xbox Series X. Backward compatibility is critical to Microsoft's next Xbox, so it adds HDR at the hardware level.
