XDefiant from Ubisoft is considered an ambitious shooter hope, but has been repeatedly delayed. After the new test run, there is fresh information about when a release date can be expected.
XDefiant is considered to be promising in the shooter genre, but its release has been postponed several times. In return, a new test run was recently held and it appears to have been a success. Executive producer Mark Rubin said the new server test “went really well.” What does that mean for the long-awaited release of the shooter hope?
Rubin has now also followed up on this and promises that a corresponding announcement of the release date of the full version “will come very soon”. The long wait may soon be over and we can only hope that the release itself will not be far away.
Despite the server test being basically successful, some remaining work will still be needed, as Rubin further confirms. The development team is aware that not everything has been perfect for the players. Thanks to the immensely extensive feedback from fans, the Ubisoft San Francisco team was able to identify a few things that will now be optimized for an ultimately good gaming experience.
As far as the server structure itself is concerned, the test has already been a success and, at least in this respect, Ubisoft already seems to be well positioned for the launch. However, it remains to be seen whether the remaining need for improvement can be remedied within a shorter period of time. Among other things, players noted problems with hit detection due to poor netcode and there were some voices from the community who felt the shooter wasn’t really ready for release.
Either way: We can definitely expect the release date in the next few days or weeks. The only question that remains is: How far away is this ultimately?
