The Xiaomi 13 Pro has faced the camera test of the experts from DxOMark. The Leica camera is disappointing here, as it was with its predecessor. It doesn’t even make the top 10.
With its new flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi primarily advertises the camera on the back. After all, it was developed in cooperation with the traditional camera manufacturer Leica. However, according to the experts at DxOMark, it cannot hold a candle to the iPhone 14 Pro or the Galaxy S23 Ultra from Samsung.
In the renowned camera test, it only achieves 136 po ints and thus ranks 16th. Incidentally, it has the same points as the predecessor Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which is only available in China. Which raises the suspicion that not much has changed on the camera. The distance to the competition is clear. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is still within striking distance with 140 points (11th place), but the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is clearly ahead of the Xiaomi cell phone with 146 points (5th place).
Die DxOMark experts criticize four things in particular about the Xiaomi 13 Pro: the insufficient readability of the display in sunlight, which makes photography difficult. In addition, the phone has problems with snapshots under difficult conditions such as backlighting or poor lighting conditions and there are exposure fluctuations in high-contrast scenes. Furthermore, the mobile phone is not suitable for audio recordings from loud sources such as concerts and shows.

However, the zoom quality, especially in the high and medium range, as well as the overall picture quality of the cell phone are praised. Nevertheless, the manufacturer would certainly have wished for a higher rating. Surprisingly, this mobile phone currently takes first place in the DxOMark camera test.
