After fans’ speculation, infinite loop Director Dinga Bakaba confirms the games are actually in the same world shame.
Akon’s The games all have some similarities, and they’re one of the few big developers to actually make immersive simulators, but Deathloop and Dishonored clearly share some DNA in more obvious ways. But according to Deathloop’s director himself, the two games are actually set in the same world, which may please fans who are theoretically so.
Bakaba confirmed the connection on the latest episode of the Xbox Podcast (thanks to PCGamer), saying that Deathloop is “one of the future of Shame.” When asked directly about the connection, Bakaba noted that due to the nature of the game, not everyone will see the same thing, “so it’s good to see the community finding little clues that we have scattered all over the place, yes, indeed , we envision a death loop in the future after the death of the outsider.”
Bakaba also said, “There are a lot of clues in the game, actually … there are a lot of little things, some of which are always under people’s noses, but people are just groping.” One of his personal favorites is the stuff on the Heritage Gun, It has a small, illegible logo on its side. Since the game launched, some idle animations have been added, which means you can see the logo more easily, which happens to be Dunwall Tower, a prominent location in the Dishonored series.
After a year of PS5 console exclusivity, Deathloop recently launched on Xbox, and with it comes the Goldenloop update, which adds all sorts of things like new abilities, some new enemies, and an extended ending.
