This fanged beast that attacks with ice blades will give hunters chills when they meet it in the snowy fields in search of new prey. Goss Harag feels right at home in the Frozen Isles, a new, snow-covered and windswept place that was once the nesting ground for great dragons, whom only the bravest hunters would attempt to kill.
Many other classic and fan-favorite monsters will return to join the growing list of enemies in Monster Hunter Rise. In addition to the previously announced monsters, these seasoned threats will also be present: Lagombi, Khezu, Great Baggi, Barioth, Mizutsune, and Tigrex. More new and returning monsters will be revealed in the coming months.
Monster Hunter Rise overview
Monster Hunter Rise is an action RPG game that transports players to the colorful Kamaru Village, attracting visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. After equipping themselves with their armor and selecting one of several weapon types, hunters will be able to enjoy new hunting grounds, such as the ancient Shrine Ruins, Flooded Forest, and more. The debut of the new “Cablebicho” mechanic enables cable-grabbing actions that can be used to scale cliffs and other hard-to-reach areas, providing new cross and aerial attack options. The game will also debut with new hunting companions called Palamutes, customizable and mountable “Canyne” companions that will provide players with a new set of attack options, while “Felyne” companions will return as support characters for actions such as healing.
As Monster Hunter Rise players defeat monsters and progress through the game, they will earn items dropped from enemies that can be used to craft unique weapons and armor that will increase their chances of future success and survival. Hunters can take on these challenges alone or with up to three other players in local or online cooperative play, while taking advantage of the versatility of the Nintendo Switch family of consoles, allowing you to hunt wherever, whenever, and with whoever you want. Monster Hunter Rise will be released worldwide for Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021.
