GDC 2020 could not take place this month due to a coronavirus epidemic. GDC staff have said that there will be some sort of replacement for the event soon this year, and they have announced what it will be. GDC Summer, "a three-day celebration of arts, crafts and game development", will be in San Fransisco from August 4 to 6. According to GDC staff, the event will be "a unique experience for game developers but will maintain the high standard of professional-led talks such as the traditional GDC, and a two-day expoos show on August 5th and 6th". It is not yet known when Nintendo will be available.
