Nintendo held its 84th Annual Shareholders’ Meeting earlier, and one of the questions that came up at the event was how Nintendo’s generational handover is going with the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto now 72 years old. Mr. Miyamoto responded by saying that “I think (Nintendo’s) generational handover is going smoothly. We have developers who are young and brilliant.” He thanked the shareholders for their inquiries about his health and said that he is very well and is still fully involved in the development of Pikmin Bloom. Mr. Miyamoto also said that as all employees age, he wants to ensure that the Kyoto-based company’s generational handover extends to include even younger employees.
