You may recall that back in October of last year, Nintendo announced that online play and other functionality for the 3DS and Wii U software would be ending in April 2024. It’s now 2024, so it was only a matter of time before Nintendo decided elaborate more on it.
Of course Nintendo did as of tonight. The company announced that the shutdown of online gaming and services will end for 3DS and Wii U software on April 8. Nintendo has also confirmed that starting March 11th, you will no longer be able to merge your unused Nintendo eShop balance into your Nintendo Account wallet for use on the Nintendo Switch.
