If you cast your mind back to May of last year, you might remember that we were impressed by a fan-made sculpture of Doomguy ‘splitting’ a destroyed DOOM cartridge in two; well, the creator of that sculpture, Nintendo Life community member Zuljaras, has now shared a first look at their latest work, and it’s got us all kinds of nostalgic.
Instead of the same-figure approach, Zuljaras’ latest build is much more hands-on as they’ve transformed their Nintendo 64 console into a StarCraft 64 battlefield, complete with different terrains, bases, and Protoss, Zerg, and Terran units. All models are handcrafted using polymer clay and permanently bonded to the console, making it the ultimate StarCraft machine!
We have to say that we are once again very impressed. The N64 was prone to a few 3D special editions in its day, but none of them were as detailed as this one (sorry, Pikachu).
Zuljaras shared with us some pictures of the building, which you can view below.
The artist has also created a video showing their sculpting and painting process so we can get a detailed look at how the piece came together. Now we just wish we could make something this cool ourselves…
Thanks to Zuljaras for sharing this great project with us!
