Remake de The Witcher
As far as we have been able to learn, this afternoon it has been announced a remake of the first game in the franchise. This version is being created from scratch and currently has no confirmed platforms.
What has been confirmed is that it is being created with Unreal Engine 5as well as that its managers are the publisher CD Projekt RED and the developer Fool’s Theory and that it is currently in its early stages of development.
This is the message shared in their announcement:
We are delighted to announce that The Witcher Remake is in the works! That’s right, the game that started it all is being rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5.
The game is currently in the early stages of development at Polish studio Fool’s Theory, where veteran Witcher series staff are involved. We as CD PROJEKT RED provide full creative oversight.
The Witcher Remake is what you may know by the code name “Canis Majoris”. It’s still early days and we want to make sure the game is created with the utmost care and attention to detail, so while we’re excited to share the news with you, we want to ask for your patience as it will be a while before we start talking. of this project in detail.
“The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD PROJEKT RED. It was the first game we did, and it was a great moment for us then. Coming back to this place and remaking the game for the next generation of gamers to experience feels just as big, if not bigger,” said Adam Badowski, Studio Director, CD PROJEKT RED. “Collaborating with Fool’s Theory on the project is just as exciting, as some of the people there have previously been involved with The Witcher games. They know the source material well, they know how long players have been waiting to see the remake happen, and they know how to create amazing and ambitious games. And while it will be some time before we’re ready to share more about the game, I know it will be worth the wait.”
As you can imagine, many fans are already asking for it to come to Nintendo platforms after the good reception of The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch. What do you think? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments.
