IGN has released a new interview with Head of Respawn & Group GM for EA Studios Vince Zampello to discuss the future of the ill-managed Battlefield franchise. Talk quickly turned to the successor to the Nintendo Switch, which Zampella says he can’t comment on, although he said Nintendo is a “great” partner and is “important” to Ea’s overall business. While he had nothing to announce, he did say that there is a chance that the next Battlefield game could come to the Switch 2.
“I mean, since then [Switch 2] it’s not announced and doesn’t exist, I can’t really comment on that. But I would absolutely say, Nintendo, along with Microsoft and Sony are great partners for us, they’re important to us in our work at EA, at Respawn, we’d love to see that,” says Zampella. “We have nothing to announce, but does the world exist? Of course. We love them as partners. They were great to us. i love [Switch].”
