I recently busted out the N64 controller for the Switch to play Zelda: Ocarina of Time – you may have heard about it. I had fun too; Somehow, using the OG controller just looks good, you know?
I also restarted Zelda: Breath of the Wild and am slowly making my way through it. I honestly feel like we're on the cusp of a new generation of Nintendo consoles, so what better way to show my undying appreciation for the current Switch than by playing the game that started it all..?

Not sure what's on the cards for Switch this weekend, as my main focus is on *he whispers* PS5. Yes, I know and I'm sorry. But the fact is, I looked longingly at my copy Star Wars: Outlaws for weeks now and I really would, really We'd love to try it out before the inevitable rush of 'Switch 2' releases later this year push the backlog even lower.
If I find time, I will miiight try to polish Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake a bit more because I really enjoyed it before I fell by the wayside late last year. But for the most part, the Switch is on the bench this time.

I just got back from my Christmas and New Years trip, so I'm still in the unfortunate state of not knowing what day it is today… but it looks like it's the weekend, so here's what I'll be playing!
Despite bringing my Switch and Steam Deck with me on vacation, I didn't really play many of the games I bought from the Christmas sales — mostly because most of the games I bought were laptop-type games, not airplane stuff. But now I'm home and I have notebooks! I bought it Epigraph and Kevin (1997-2077)both language puzzle games recommended to me as a fan of language puzzle games, as well as Lorelei and the Laser Eyes and Empty strangerwhich are both in the “metroidbrainias” genre, my favorite microgenre.
After forgetting I had downloaded it, I also played Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood. I haven't historically had a lot of fun with Mario and Luigi RPGs, for reasons I can't fathom (either they like to crash on me, or they're not very good games — I'm looking at you, Paper Jam), but the insanely good animation is winning me over so far.
Oh, I play too Red Dead Redemption 2after many years of constantly buying on sale and then never getting past the first really boring chapter. I'm about halfway there! It's really hard to avoid spoilers for a game that's been out for years!!!

I'm still pushing myself in Trails through Daybreak, but I'm giving up. Turns out playing a long RPG to start the year wasn't the best idea! I'd rather read a book or watch a movie.
However, I'm very close to running Rune Factory 4 Special, which I grabbed on sale the other week — I'd only tried Tides of Destiny before and turned it down, but this was under £4, so I had a do. Enjoy your weekend, folks!

With Yakuza Kiwami completed, I can now return to properly completed and enjoy The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I'm a bit intrigued by Chants of Sennaar and will probably start playing it this weekend. A friend recommended Spirit of the North to me over the holidays, and after securing a physical copy of it, I'm looking forward to adding it to my “fox games I've beaten” list. In preparation for the upcoming sequel and after reading an article about it in Retro Gamer, I also plan to give Gimmick! Special edition.
It's my game of the week Descent: FreeSpace – The Great War. Weirdest thing during the holidays: I saw Squadron 42 extended gameplay reveal trailer and I felt the urge for some space opera / shooter shenanigans so I picked the classic. I look forward to jumping in FreeSpace 2 next week. Volition: Gone But Not Forgotten.
That's what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Let us know in the next poll which games you plan to launch in the next few days.
